A sophisticated 1925 Arts & Craft styled Globe

A sophisticated 1925 Arts & Craft styled Globe

$425.00
The beautiful, warm patina of the map compliment the classic Arts & Craft styled base. Outsourced by Hammonds of New York, Weber Costello designed and produced this beautiful mount, which has become a rare find. With an 8 inch diameter and total height of about 15 inches, this is a sophisticated model of simplistic elegance. Combining metal with minimalistic lines and copper accents, this globe documents the beauty of Mission Style, also known as the Arts and Craft Movement. The map of the sphere offers interesting visual history by displaying metropolitan centers of the past including Constantinople (changed to Istanbul in1929) and Christiana, which changed to Oslo by 1925. Aged to perfection, the globe has a beautiful warm patina and offers the perfect vintage look. All though there is wear to the map, details are crisp and visible. A sophisticated object of art, if not for its history. $425 — Item #: 1011ARTS&CRAFTWC 25 - SOLD
